Original art is available! 

Requests for original character art* can be made directly from Atkinson, who does not charge for the art, but does ask that people requesting art help support service organizations. Make a donation to any organization listed below, and contact Atkinson. Send a copy of your donation receipt, and an original drawing is yours for free. 

The reason for this odd offer is to help create a network of people working together to raise money for non-profit organizations in need. It is Atkinson's intent that the River and the Weird Kid project not only eventually provide supplemental income for his family, but to promote positive social programs. To that end, this plan helps distribute the art and support service groups. Atkinson's agreement to donate free original work to participants in this plan offers an incentive to contribute to the excellent work that these organizations offer.

*To prevent any confusion: the original art being offered will be pencil, ink, and brush finished drawings of the characters. The originals of the strips are not available because they are reserved for family.

ORGANIZATIONS ENDORSED BY ATKINSON:

*Any local nonprofit agency providing services to survivors of domestic abuse, child abuse, or sexual assault;

*New Dream - helping families prevent the commercialization of childhood;

*Indigenous Environmental Network - helping American Indian communities protect their natural and cultural resources (Note: great page, but they have weird programming that prevents you from clicking "back" to return here);

*Western Shoshone Defense Project - Protecting Shoshone Indian lands from theft and contamination;

*Honor the Earth - Helping disempowered communities resist environmental exploitation;

*Amnesty International - working to prevent political oppression, human rights violations, and brutality;

*Sweatshop Watch - Exposing sweatshops, and educating buyers about companies which violate human rights by using enslaved or exploited laborers;

*Co-op America - nonprofit group providing opportunities for businesses to sell items which do not originate from sweatshops or exploitation of workers or the environment.
